Rectangle recognizes Calgary gem
Pressure Kill Common Style impress Edmonton big shot

>>THE 411

Oh, and another problem I have with Edmonton – they steal our bands. Edmonton scenesters Rectangle Records

(home of Whitey Houston and All Purpose Voltage Heroes) has taken a shine to one of Calgary’s hottest new bands.

Pressure Kill Common Style (PKCS) has started a relationship with the northern label. ”I’m not stealing (Pressure Kill Common Style),

I’m facilitating their growth,” rationalizes Rectangle’s owner Mike Scorgie. “I’ve decided to look outside Edmonton to find more bands

that I want to work with. I’m loving the Alberta scene right now.”

The two parties met recently at Edmonton’s Sidetrack Café, where PKCS’s first Edmonton performance captivated Scorgie enough

to inspire him to want to release first an EP (slated for December) and later a full-length. Pressure Kill Common Style will charm you,

as well, on October 11 at The Hifi Club.Although –Leslie Birdfly, FFWD Weekly, Calgary October 6, 2005
